Beyond Loss in a Pandemic: Find Hope and Move Through Grief After Someone Close to You Dies (Paperback)
If you lost a relative, friend, or colleague before or during the COVID-19 pandemic, you know how difficult it can be to feel whole again, particularly at a time of uncertainty and isolation.
With Beyond Loss in a Pandemic, Linda Donovan takes a compassionate and practical approach to help people move through their grief during this surreal period. You'll learn how to feel better, stay connected with others, and focus on achieving your most important priorities. Linda offers insight from her perspective as a grief support volunteer for hospice, where she has helped countless people to rebuild their lives, and from her own experience with loss.
Linda Donovan is a writer, grief-support advocate, and marketing consultant for technology companies. She has been leading grief groups for Hospice of Santa Cruz County for more than ten years, where she has helped many people cope with loss and move forward with their lives. Linda became involved with her local hospice after experiencing how the hospice team had provided so much assistance to her family at a critical time. In addition to her work with grief support, Linda has been a professional writer for more than 30 years. Her work has appeared in books, blogs, magazines, newspapers, and other publications.
She won a 2014 Writer’s Digest award for a digital version of a self-help book that she co-authored, Tech Grief: Survive and Thrive Through Career Losses. Her previous book, After Loss: Hope for Widows, Widowers, and Partners, received a 5-Star Review from the San Francisco Book Review. Her latest book, Beyond Loss in a Pandemic, received a 5-Star Review from the Manhattan Book Review.

"Dealing with death is difficult in the best of circumstances. But during a pandemic? Linda Donovan gives coping techniques that are wonderfully useful, heartfelt, and wise. Arising from her personal experience as a widow and grief support volunteer, her stories ring of truth. As a recent widow myself, I find her book to be an important source of comfort and guidance."
—Alesa Lightbourne, PhD, Prize-winning author of The Kurdish Bike
"Linda Donovan's new book can be a valuable guide and a road map to get back on the track to surviving, adjusting, making the right decisions, and getting back into life. The author is an experienced grief support advocate and a talented writer who has walked the hard path of grief and loss herself. It certainly will be a book I will recommend in my psychiatry practice and teaching to anyone seeking information or support for painful, incapacitating grief and loss."
