Beauty and the Beast: A Play for Young Audiences (Paperback)
Building on the original tale, playwright Nora Tully has added additional ingenious elements that bring this story to life in a new way. Prince Armand must choose a bride before his coronation, and has set his hopes on the poor merchant's daughter Beauty. Unbeknownst to him, a sorcerer has plans to have his own daughter marry the Prince. He places the Prince under an evil spell turning him into a beast in hopes that Beauty will reject him. This skillfully crafted retelling of the story was originally produced by the Goodman Theatre where it played to enthusiastic audiences.
